Graduates of Vavilov University told how Saratov united Morocco and Botswana

Vavilov University is proud to accompany qualified specialists and also true friends into adulthood. Two international students, Belkouh Douaa from the Kingdom of Morocco and Khupe Andile Larona from the Republic of Botswana, received veterinary diplomas and shared touching memories of their years in Russia.

Throughout the years of studying away from home, they became best friends, supporting each other on the way to the profession. Their story is a vivid example of how education erases geographical and cultural boundaries.

Belkouh Douaa completed her studies, becoming the holder of a diploma with honours.

"Saratov taught me the main thing: nothing is impossible," says Belkouh. The red diploma is the result of the great work of the Vavilov University teachers and my sleepless nights over textbooks. But I never felt lonely because my friend Andile was there. We studied for exams together, and enjoyed our first successful operation in practice. Now I'm coming home knowing that I have a good friend on the other side of the world!"

Khupe Andile Larona received a diploma of higher education, demonstrating consistently high knowledge in all disciplines.

"Douaa and I have always had a healthy competition. She was always one step ahead, motivating me to reach out for her. I am going home with a huge amount of knowledge that Vavilov University has given me. This will be the best start of my career. But another main treasure that I am taking away from Russia is our friendship with Douaa."

Both graduates speak warmly about life in Saratov, noting the goodwill of the staff of Vavilov University, hospitality of local residents, and the beauty of the Volga River.
